A Box Full of Tuna!

After a few days of wicked winds and downpours, the inlet settled down enough by late morning enough for one of our boats to venture out to the fishing grounds. They were rewarded with 700 pounds of Yellowfin Tuna! All in all, they had 21 Tuna and one Gaffer Dolphin.

Ready for better weather!

What a windy day in Pirate's Cove Marina! None of our offshore fleet was able to make it out today! But some of our nearshore boats did go out and caught good amounts of bluefish and some Spanish Mackerel and skate. Hopefully this weather clears up soon!

Bluefish and Blustery Weather!

Despite the nasty weather today, one of our Nearshore boats took a couple of groups today. They had good luck fishing for bluefish in the inlet and sound in the morning. The afternoon trip had a few bluefish along with a couple of skate and flounder. More of the same weather tomorrow!

Tuna and Mahi!

What a rainy day in Pirate's Cove today!! Even with the gloomy weather conditions our charter fleet brought in lots of yellowfin tuna, and mahi! Our nearshore charter fleet had some spanish mackerel and bluefish too!!

Amazing Dolphin and Tuna Catch!

Wet and Windy!!

Due to weather all the boats stayed in but tomorrow we have a few offshore and nearshore trips! In addition we have two boats, the Goin' Deep and the Sea Toy, competing in the Hatteras Village Tournament! Good luck boys!

Our offshore boats had a very successful day, bringing in nearly A THOUSAND pounds of fish today!!! There were some beautiful tuna and picturesque dolphin.

Bigeye Tuna Citations Today!

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there!

We only had one boat offshore today and they got hooked up with some very nice Bigeye Tuna. Three anglers fishing on the Obsession earned citations for their efforts today. Brenda Moyer reeled in a 137 pound Bigeye, Randy Hanzlik caught a 162 pounder and Brent Nase's weighed in at 181 pounds! All three earned citations for their catches.

Limits of Dolphin, Tuna & a few Marlin

Another great day for the Pirate's Cove Charter Fleet! The weather is beautiful, and looks to be continuing through the week. Fish Cleaning tickets came in with total weights over 400 lbs! Most of the boats had limits of Gaffer Dolphin with a few Bailers tossed in. They all came back with their fish boxes full of Yellowfin Tuna. A few White Marlin releases were reported. One of the private boats reported a Blue Marlin release.

Our nearshore fleet reported a nice catch of Bluefish today, and heard that the Cobia are moving in.

Limits of Yellowfin!

The fleet returned to the docks with a nice catch today. Many of the boats were in early with limits of Yellowfin Tuna; others had a mix of Gaffer Dolphin and Yellowfin Tuna.

Trout and Dolphin

Things are looking up on Tuesday! There were reports of EXCELLENT trout fishing in the sounds. We had one offshore boat go out today and they returned with a box of mostly gaffer dolphin and a tuna! Its looking like tomorrow is going to be another beautiful day here on the Outer Banks with temperatures in the upper 70's and calm winds. Happy fishing!

Windy Monday

All of our boats stayed safe in the marina today with 20-25 knot winds offshore, but there are a few planning on going out tomorrow so we are hoping for a great catch on Tuesday!

Excellent Fishing Today!

Excellent fishing to report today! The offshore boats returned to the docks with 8-14 Yellowfin Tuna and 20-45 Gaffer Dolphin, each. Total weighs range from about 500-700 pounds of fish per boat! A Sailfish was also released today.

In Nearshore fishing the boats were enjoying non-stop action catching small Bluefish again today!

Great Day Mahi & Tuna!

Today was a great day for all of our boats! The Mahi Mahi bite was on fire, filling everyone's fish boxes to the brim! Nice Gaffers and good sized bailers were reported. A few of the boats hit a bait ball on the way in, putting some good sized Yellowfin Tuna in the cockpit as well. Nearshore fishing heats Up!

Beautiful Weather for Tomorrow!

We did not have any boats out today. Tomorrow's (FRIDAY) weather looks absolutely beautiful - slick calm seas and warm air! We have a lot of boats out, and are hoping for a great catch! Come on down to the docks at Pirate's Cove Marina at 5 PM to check out the catch of the day!

Bluefish, Yellowfin... a Rainbow of Fish!

Our nearshore boys enjoyed some friendly competition amongst themselves with a great group of guys and brought in a pile of bluefish!

As for offshore, we had one boat out today that caught 8 30-40lb yellowfin tuna and about 20 5-15lb dolphin.

The tide is turning!

The fish are starting to bite! We had one boat out today and they came back with 3 tuna, a dozen dolphin and a 56 pound citation wahoo!!

Tomorrow is going to be a BEAUTIFUL day in the upper 70's, here's to hoping the fishing come out to catch a few rays! Stay tuned for tomorrow's report, we have several boats that will be setting their lines out in the morning.

What a difference a day makes!

We had three boats offshore today. Yesterday's luck has worn off and the fish were not biting today.

All boats came in with a nice catch of tilefish. There was one lonely dolphin.

Great Tuna Fishing!

The Yellowfin Tuna bite was on fire today! We had one boat come in with a limit of nice sized Yellowfin, a few Mahi and a Blackfin Tuna. The rest of the fleet did well also, with a handful of Yellowfin each as well some scattered Gaffer Dolphin! The fishing has been great lately, and it is a good time to get your next offshore adventure scheduled!

Great Mahi-Mahi Bite & Nice Yellowfin Tuna

Today was a great day in the gulf stream for our charter boats. All of our boats came back with about 30 Mahi Mahi per boat, with a good mix of bailers and gaffers. Each of the boats also had a decent catch of Yellowfin Tuna.

New Merchandise in the Ships Store!

We have lots of new items in the ships store, including a new Tommy Bahama mens' line, womens' Tommy Bahama apparel, Guy Harvey handbags, Igloo tote coolers, Costa and Smith sunglasses. There are three brand new t-shirt designs for 2012 as well as great gift ware and several new lines of bath and body products. As for our tackle department, amongst a great selection of offshore and nearshore tackle, some new cleaning products have arrived that have received rave reviews. More new products by Pelagic, Dynasty Glass, Eliza B, Susan Mango, ROLF, Nectar, Aftco, and Olivina among others. The ships store is open seven days a week from 8am to 6pm. Extended summer hours start soon.

We would also like to introduce the newest addition to our charter fleet, the Goin' Deep, captained by Kenny Sexton. Welcome aboard!!
